This holiday season, the Juniors came together to brighten the holiday of over 25 boys and girls at the Bay Area Crisis Nursery. The Juniors fulfilled the wish lists of children – from infants to early teens – with much needed clothing as well as a special toy or game for each child. Soon after we made our donation, we learned that our very own Juniorettes wrapped the packages for the children. The Lamorinda Weekly covered the story.

A group of Juniors got together over the weekend and baked over 24 dozen cookies and holiday treats for a holiday celebration for the Pediatric Infectious Disease Program at Children’s Hospital.

Dear Volunteers,

We are grateful for your role in improving the lives of our patients! Thank you for being such valuable partners by volunteering your time for the young people and their families we serve. We hope you have a wonderful and joyous holiday season and may the light you share with others shine upon you!

With our warmest holiday wishes,
The staff of the Pediatric ID Program

On November 20 the Orinda Woman’s Club will put on the 28th Annual Festival of Trees Benefit Luncheon and Fashion Show at the San Ramon Marriott Hotel. To support the program, the Orinda Juniors have decorated a small tree to be auctioned at the luncheon. Our theme is the 24 Days of Christmas.

For our fundraiser this year, we gathered at Maura’s house to make Cookies in a Jar and Chocolate Sauce. We made about 72 jars of chocolate sauce and 48 jars of cookie mix! We spent our next group meeting decorating the treats and will be selling them at our next meeting. They are wonderful holiday and hostess gifts.

The Orinda Juniors had a great time decorating pumpkins at our October meeting. Once we were all done, a small group (along with their children all decked out in their spookiest garb) delivered the pumpkins to an enthusiastic crowd of seniors at the Orinda Senior Village.
